Julie Jimenez | Intimacy Recovery

Julie Jimenez, LMSW, CSAT-C

Julie is a Licensed Master of Social Work and a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) candidate. She has been trained under the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, founded by Dr. Patrick Carnes.

Julie has experience in helping survivors of intimate partner violence often being the first person they met when seeking help. She has worked at Kenneth Peter’s Center for Recovery providing individual and group therapy for people with addiction and alcoholism.

Julie loves identifying her clients strengths and helping them work toward positive coping skills. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques along with mindfulness work and the Carnes 30-Task model. Together, with her clients, she works to uncover unresolved conflicts and the difficulty in dealing with uncomfortable emotions which add to acting-out behaviors. She often engages her clients in various meditation techniques to help them begin or reinforce a regular practice in order to assist them in regulating themselves.

Julie is known for being open-minded and adding humor to life’s difficult situations. She is an ally of the LGBTQI community and has a sex-positive practice.

Additionally, Julie enjoys working with teens and adults in overcoming addictions. She also assists individuals who have low self-esteem, anxiety and depression among other major stressors.
