Adrianna received her MA in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University and has a background of sexual health, LGBTQ+ trans-affirming care, and women's sexuality.
Adrianna believes that the client is the expert of their own life. She aims to meet the client where they are by creating a safe, non judgmental space grounded in respect, compassion and empathy. Together, she and her clients build a strong therapeutic alliance, which serves as a relational template for clients to explore and contextualize their experiences. With a strengths-based approach, Adrianna helps clients access their inner wisdom in order to move forward towards healing.
Adrianna understands that an individual's well being is influenced by physical, mental, and systemic factors. Growing up as a first-generation Chinese-Canadian, Adrianna understands that internal conflicts do not exist in a vacuum. It is essential to consider how cultural upbringing, intergenerational effects and societal narratives intersect to shape one's way of navigating the world. She approaches her therapy with cultural humility and welcomes individuals from all walks of life.
Adrianna utilizes multiple therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and somatic work, and expressive therapies, to provide tailored interventions. She holds a sex-positive approach, and has experience in trauma work. Her style is conversational, authentic, and driven by curiosity.
