The Focus of the Group is on:

  • Exploring principles of intimacy and cultivating new healthier ways of building intimacy with self and others

  • Examining destructive patterns that are used to avoid intimacy from a female perspective

  • Identifying core needs and the impact when they are not met

  • Providing a safe and supportive space to build connections

  • Boundaries

  • Attachment

  • Exploring the addiction cycle while also examining triggers, feelings, and shame

  • Sex and Love addiction recovery/psychoeducation on SLAA

  • Affect regulation skills (this is not a skills group but skills come up when group members are struggling with dysregulation/triggers)

  • Understanding one's own "arousal template."

This group is a combination of psycho-educational and experiential exercises designed to help women reach a better understanding of themselves and their behavior, especially in relation with others. It also lays the groundwork for group members to begin to change patterns and behaviors which hold them back or may be self-destructive and begins to heal the causes for negative patterns in relationships.
