George Embiricos is a Licensed Master Social Worker, and earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Practice from Columbia University.

 

Born and raised in New York City, George graduated Vanderbilt University with a undergraduate degree in Child Studies. His work experience includes individual and group counseling with children, adolescents, and families at Middle School 50 in Brooklyn, New York. He helps identify clients’ strengths and incorporates evidence- based approaches in his work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.

 

George believes that building and maintaining relationships with others is of the highest importance in life and that learning to value a relationship with one’s self is instrumental in this lifelong journey. He seeks to create a safe and open space by forming therapeutic connections with clients based on sincere empathy and trust, and is known for incorporating a keen sense of humor whenever possible.

 

George works with individuals and couples to help overcome addictions, as well as those battling anxiety, depression, and/or dealing with many of life’s major stressors. He understands the utmost significance of providing unequivocal support and validation in the healing process.
