The Center for Intimacy Recovery is excited to announce the launch of the Women's Intimacy Group, a 12-week virtual psychoeducational program specifically designed for women aged 20-30.

 

This supportive and empowering space invites you to explore the many dimensions of intimacy, helping you deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships with others.

Details:

Duration: 12 Weeks

Start Date: Monday, June 2nd, 2025

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM EST (Weekly)

Cost: $100 per week

Duration: 12 Weeks

 

(An individual assessment session will be required for new clients to tailor the group experience to your needs.

Goals of the Group:

  • Create healthier intimacy with yourself and others.

  • Understand the cultural expectations influencing perceptions of intimacy.

  • Gain insights into your core needs and beliefs.

  • Enhance awareness of your sexuality and improve communication skills for vulnerability.

 

Participants will engage in experiential learning, psychoeducation, and peer support to reflect, grow, and develop the confidence needed for meaningful relationships.

Weekly Summary: Each week will include discussions on specific topics that foster personal growth and insight. Here’s a brief outline of what to expect:

  1. Week 1: Introductions & Defining Intimacy
    Explore initial feelings, thoughts, and goals, setting the tone for the journey ahead.

     

  2. Week 2: The Complexities of Being a Woman
    Discuss anxieties and excitements of womanhood, cultural messages, and how they shape personal beliefs about being a woman.

     

  3. Week 3: Beliefs About Self
    Examine how past experiences influence beliefs about self, attachment, and the importance of self-care and authenticity.

     

  4. Week 4: Our Body
    Engage in discussions about body image and self-esteem, including reflective exercises that foster kindness and acceptance toward oneself.

     

  5. Week 5: Our Sexual Selves
    Set a safe space to discuss sexuality, exploring personal beliefs and experiences through guided exercises on sexual empowerment and anatomy.

     

  6. Week 6: Intimacy with Self
    Dive into understanding different forms of intimacy and explore sensuality and pleasure to feel alive in all senses.

     

  7. Week 7: Intimacy with Others
    Reflect on the meaning and presence of intimacy in current relationships, identifying areas to cultivate deeper connections.

     

  8. Week 8: Intimacy in Relationships
    Discuss various forms of intimacy in romantic friendships and mentorships, addressing attachment styles and intimacy avoidance.

     

  9. Week 9: Our Needs in Relation to Others
    Learn to recognize, respond to, and communicate emotional and physical needs, breaking down barriers to intimacy.

     

  10. Week 10: Communication
    Focus on effective communication, assertiveness, and vulnerability, with an emphasis on drawing healthy boundaries.

     

  11. Week 11: Cultural Intimacy Scripts
    Tackle how cultural programming affects intimacy, exploring the identities that support or hinder intimacy cultivation.

  12. Week 12: Closure & Reflection

        Reflect on the journey, celebrating progress made in self-awareness and intimacy with self and others.

The group will be led by Adrianna Xue, MHC and Evangelos Daniels, LCSW, CSAT, who are both dedicated to guiding participants through this transformative journey.

Evangelos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of counseling experience. Evangelos has an understanding that selecting a therapist can be just as challenging as deciding to enter into treatment. Therefore, this is his pledge to you: He will welcome you into treatment with compassion, professional competence, and a sincere sensitivity to the specific circumstances motivating you to seek therapy at this time.

Adrianna received her MA in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University and has a background of sexual health, LGBTQ+ trans-affirming care, and women's sexuality. Adrianna believes that the client is the expert of their own life. She aims to meet the client where they are by creating a safe, non-judgmental space grounded in respect, compassion and empathy. Together, she and her clients build a strong therapeutic alliance, which serves as a relational template for clients to explore and contextualize their experiences. With a strengths-based approach, Adrianna helps clients access their inner wisdom in order to move forward towards healing.
