Michael Friedman

Mike Friedman, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)  is passionate about working with individuals and couples. With a strong commitment to evidence-based treatments, Mike strives to enhance client wellness and facilitate healing from trauma.

 

Mike's expertise extends beyond traditional counseling approaches. He has undergone specialized training from renowned experts in the field, including sexual addiction and betrayal trauma with IITAP (International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals and mother-son enmeshment with Dr. Kenneth Adams. He also studied Dr. Yolanda Swope, who has equipped him with valuable knowledge in Family Systems and Neuroscience-based interventions.

 

Additionally, he has received specialized training from Dr. Pat McGrath in the area of OCD, employing innovative techniques like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Furthermore, Mike has honed his skills in Fertility Counseling under the guidance of esteemed mind/body researcher Dr. Alice Domar.

 

Education has always been a cornerstone of Mike's career. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park, a B.T.L. from Ner Israel Rabbinical College, and a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas.

 

Combining his expertise as a clinician with his rich heritage as a seventh-generation rabbi, Mike has been actively involved in delivering impactful psycho-educational community lectures on various topics. Some of these thought-provoking discussions include "21st Century Holocaust Education," "The Brainwashing and Conscription of Child Soldiers," "The Black-Jewish Alliance in the United States," and "The Effects of Inter-Generational Trauma."

 

Outside of his counseling practice, Mike is also the co-founder and Wellness Rabbi of "Nafshi," a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting holistic wellness within the Jewish community.
